Notes & Reviews:
Florent Schmitt wrote quite a bit for the piano - as an Impressionist, Romantic, Expressionist as well as a humorist who did not disdain neo-Classical jokes, he was a blend of all trends. Amongst this output for an instrument of which he was especially fond, particular emphasis must be given to the works for piano four hands. Highly polished and featuring considerable writing richness (and difficulty!), they take us on a multitude of journeys.
