Remarks:

The six solo cantatas with instrumental accompaniment on this CD were edited by the author in the early 1740s and were issued later separately several times. The underlying words are Baroque poems discussing the topic of love with added mythological elements and symbols. As far as form is concerned, they all consist of three or four sections built upon the alternation of recitatives and arias. In the recitatives the instrumental accompaniment to the vocal part is figured bass (violoncello, harpsichord, lute), in the arias they are performed by one or two melodic instruments (violin, flute, hurdy-gurdy - leaving the choice partly to the performers).
