Performer
Earl Wild (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
"This release from Ivory bodes quite well for a series that probably could stretch to more than 100 discs. Earl Wild has lived a performing and recording life that is unparalleled in historyIn April of 1980 Wild recorded the Weber and Liszt works with the same orchestra under Larry Newland. The Weber Konzertstuck was only performed by him a couple of times in public, and this is as good a rendition as is available of this work. The Hungarian Fantasy has been a specialty and staple of his, spanning the length of his career. He has made at least three studio recordings of this flashy bravura work, but never before has a concert performance been released. It is a perfect and very enjoyable conclusion to an outstanding program." - American Record Guide
