Notes & Reviews:
These works by Otto Ketting were composed between 1957 and 1963. They are characterized by the fact that they all, in true brotherly fellowship, have their origins in the musical styles of previous times. The First Symphony and the Due Canzoni were written at the same time, and mark a unique moment in Ketting's work and in Dutch music as a whole: these were the first works by a Dutch composer in which the legacy of the Second Viennese School is explicitly expressed this way.
