Notes & Reviews:

Miczyslaw Weinberg was born in Poland, although his father had come from Russia. Alone of his family, he escaped to Russia when the Germans invaded. The remainder of his family died in the Warsaw Ghetto. It was the Red Army that rescued Weinberg and it was to the Red Army that he dedicated his first symphony.
