The organ on this recording was built by Fratelli Ruffatti of Padua, Italy with construction starting in 2002. The need was for an organ for a huge cathedral with 11 seconds of reverberation and one that could lead a large congregation, accompany the cathedral choirs, and cope with a large amount of organ literature in different styles. The new organ is a huge success: beautiful, versatile, and flexible.
