The 30-strong, mixed-voice, Seattle-based Choral Arts professional choir (formerly Choral Arts Northwest) is known for its polished, rounded tone and mastery of choral literature from all styles and historical periods. This new disc features five premiere recordings by American composers, among them a five-movement setting of the poetry of Langston Hughes for 4-hands/piano and choir by William Averitt.
