A virtuoso and deeply musical performance of major music for solo cello by German cellist Ulrich Heinen includes the first five of Bach's Cello Suites, with modern works which have been inspired by Bach or reflect in a modern way the Bachian principles of composition; from B A Zimmermann, Hans Werner Henze, Simon Holt, Gerald Barry and Howard Skempton.
