Notes & Reviews:

This anthology is devoted to the Brussels tenor Fernand Faniard, who sang at the Paris opera and at Monte Carlo. Essentially a Wagnerian tenor, he was also a remarkable recitalist. The album reveals this unexpected aspect of him in a recital of French melodies and a number of lieder by Schubert, Schumann, and Wolf, all recorded at the end of his career but never before released!
