Notes & Reviews:

Ferenc Fricsay's recordings have a significant cult following among classical music devotees. For much of his life, he recorded for the Deutsche Grammophon record label. Fricsay was best known for his interpretations of the music of Mozart and Beethoven, and his recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 that featured in the movie A Clockwork Orange. Le Violon en Fete continues Tahra's series of recordings of historic violinists. The present disc features Nathan Milstein and Bronislaw Gimpel playing concertos by Brahms and Sibelius.
