Notes & Reviews:

The New Collectors Edition (original US release 3/30/2010) continues with ten new releases, many of which are appearing at budget price for the first time. These classic performances are truly the cream of the crop and the definitive recordings every collector should have. Recorded between 1967 and 1973, Wilhelm Kempff's survey of the major Schumann solo-piano works is "authoritative and companionable, balanced, and most human" (Gramophone). Also included in this specially priced 5-CD box-set are his rare 1974 recordings of the Piano Concerto and the Konzertstuck op. 92 with Rafael Kubelik. "He is a guide to Schumann... authoritative and companionable, balanced and most human" - Gramophone
