Celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of Franz Liszt (1811-1886), Gloriae Dei Cantores presents a little-known, deeply spiritual side of this musical giant. Liszt composed his a cappella masterpiece Missa Choralis, featured on this recording, during an extended stay at a monastery in Rome. Faith of My Heart also highlights several smaller works of great beauty and spirit, including the Pater Noster and Ave Maris Stella. This SACD was recorded in surround sound in the stunning acoustics of the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, Massachusetts and features the majestic sounds of the church's E.M. Skinner organ.
