Although the repertoire of Liisa Pohjola spans the entire gamut of piano music, she is particularly known for her performances of contemporary music. She studied at the Sibelius Academy and gave recitals and appeared as a soloist extensively in Europe after her debut recital in 1955. She was professor of piano at the Sibelius Academy until 2001. This 3-cd set offers some of her best recordings from her 36-year concert career.
