Most of the compositions by Giovanni Benedetto Platti (1697-1763) fit easily into the late Baroque era but, in some of the keyboard pieces there are elements that are definitely characteristic of the Classical and even the early Romantic period. These sonatas are harbingers of the rebellious "Sturm und Drang" period. At the age of 20, Luca Gugliemi was an invited by Jordi Savall to join his various ensembles including Hesperion XX. He now has more than 40 recordings as a soloist and in various ensembles.
