Notes & Reviews:
This latest release from Lee Actor features five compositions: Concerto for Alto Saxophone, which exploits the instrument's considerable dramatic and expressive possibilities; Dance Rhapsody, which contrasts strongly rhythmic dance sections with slower, arhythmic interludes; Concerto for Horn, a work of compact dimensions; Opening Remarks, a brisk, upbeat work designed to begin a concert; and Celebration Overture, a joyous and invigorating piece with instrumentation similar to Beethoven's s 9th.
