Notes & Reviews:

For a conductor such as Eugene Goossens, born into a highly musical family in London in 1893, by the time of his early maturity the twin peaks of late-romanticism and high-impressionism were the leading forces in contemporary music. It was only to be expected that Goossens' own considerable gifts as a conductor would embrace these movements equally. This historic reissue comes from recordings made in 1957 and 1959.
