Notes & Reviews:

The 15th release of Thomas Fey and the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra's critically acclaimed journey through the complete symphonies of Haydn features two delightful and less-well-known symphonies. Full of musical surprises and innovations to delight even the most jaded listener. The Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra utilizes historically informed performance practice with a hybrid ensemble consisting of both modern and historic instruments.

Gramophone Magazine
Fey's performances always leave me breathless, seldom less than invigorated, often infuriated, and it'll be fascinating to hear how he measures up when only the less outgoing symphonies are left to be recorded.

International Record Review
What results is an astringent sonority, the timpani played with 'hard' sticks, the brass with piercing bite. All of this works well, the overall orchestral texture being especially well focused, the modern strings gaining a nasal sonority in their freedom from vibrato... this is a valuable release
