Album Summary
Performer
Masha Dimitrieva (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
Camille Pleyel - piano maker, publisher, composer, and pianist - was the Paris-born son of the Lower Austrian composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel, who had immigrated to France. A pupil of Dussek and Kalkbrenner, he became a virtuoso pianist who was also a friend of Chopin's. Camille Pleyel's oeuvre has remained almost unknown up to now. Brilliant pianist Masha Dimitrieva performs this appealing compilation on the historical Pleyel fortepiano in Ruppersthal, on which she previously recorded a successful CD featuring works by Ignaz Joseph Pleyel.
Notes & Reviews:Recording information: Pleyel-Museum, Ruppersthal, Lower Austria (06/25/2010/10/01/2010).
