Born in Manchester in 1964, Ronan O'Hora studied with Professor Ryszard Bakst at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won several awards, including the Dayas Gold Medal and the Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. In 1985, he won the Stefania Nickrasz Prize, awarded every five years to an outstanding exponent of Chopin. While still at college he received invitations to appear with many leading orchestras, including the Hallé, Bournemouth Symphony, Ulster, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras, and has since returned regularly to all of these orchestras. Ronan O'Hora is firmly established as one of Britain's leading pianists. He has performed extensively in every major country in Europe and in the US, Canada, and South Africa performing with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra.
