Notes & Reviews:

Pierre Bartholomée was artistic director and resident conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège for twenty-two years. Co-founder of the Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles, he has worked with Messiaen, Xenakis, Berio, Boulez and Schnittke. This disc presents five of his recent works for solo instruments. Oraisons for cello and Face à Face for viola were written for Ophélie Gaillard and Dominica Eyckmans. Le Livre d'orgue is dedicated to Belgian organist Bernard Foccroulle and played here by Jean-Philippe Merckaert.
