Elizabethan Cathedral Music: works by Parsley, Morley & Inglott / Choir of Norwich Cathedral

Notes & Reviews:

Norwich was second only to London in being the largest and most active city in Great Britain during the reign of Elizabeth I, so it is hardly surprising that the Norwich cathedral musicians took such an imaginative part in determining the styles of music to accompany the newly formulated services of the first English Book of Common Prayer. This recording gives us the music that congregations of that time would have heard.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Norwich Cathedral, Norwich, Norfolk, England (11/14/1991-11/16/1991).
