Notes & Reviews:

Antonín Dvorák's Serenade for Wind Instruments, Violoncello, and Double Bass op. 44 numbers among the "greatest hits" for renowned wind ensembles. The same does not apply in the same degree to Felix Mendelssohn's Overture in B flat major for Ten Wind Instruments, a work originally entitled "Notturno." The least known work and the greatest discovery on this CD is Wilhelm Emilius Hartmann's Serenade in B flat major.
