Notes & Reviews:

This album features John Walz, master cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra and first chair of the Los Angeles Opera orchestra. Walz dedicated this album to his teacher, Pierre Fournier, who is one of the most prominent cellists in the 20th century. A Tribute to Pierre Fournier includes Martinu's eerie Sonata No. 1 for cello and piano, his cherished Concerto No. 1 for cello and orchestra, Vivaldi's magical Concerto in E Minor, and Couperin's irresistible "Pièces en Concert."
