Notes & Reviews:
South African composer David Dubery studied in England at the Northern School of Music. Since 1972 he has enjoyed a multi-faceted music career as solo pianist, accompanist, composer, vocal coach, musical director and teacher of piano and voice. Being largely self-taught he works in a traditional language, preferring miniature to medium sized projects. His music is tonal and rooted in past traditions.
American Record Guide, September / October 2012
David Dubery (b 1948) hails from South Africa and has lived in England for many years. His music has a traditional flavor to it, and the pieces recorded here are for recorder, oboe, and cello, along with a number of quite lovely songs sung with beautiful intonation and clear diction by Murray. Texts are included.
Recording information: Concert Hall of the Royal Northern College of Music, Ma.
