This recording documents the wealth of choral and instrumental ensembles in the southwest of Germany and shows the many facets of local Christmas Music: ancient and modern, small ensembles, choirs or orchestras - rhythmic, celebratory and contemplative. The Musical Advent Calendar features 24 Christmas songs performed by performed by the "Crème de la Crème" such as Juliane Banse and René Kollo. A delightful disc that displays the vitality and diversity of festive music making and provides perfect musical tuning into the season of December 1st until Christmas Eve.
