Notes & Reviews:

Ritmo
Alexander Ghindin, winner in 2007 of the International Piano Competition in Cleveland, offers a selection of works from another Alexander Scriabin. The bulk of the disc is made up of the Sonatas Nos.. 1, 4 and 8 , supplemented with various poems and several short pieces. Ghindin shown in the first as a pianist magnificent, capable of anything. His infallible fingers allow you to do with music what you want: see the grand crescendo of the 2nd movement and the tremendous, overwhelming and terribly dark FunFbre of the first sonata, the passionate line perfectly sung on two planes of tone of the Andante of the Fourth and transmutation in the nervous and changing Presto , or the subtle sound and color of broad palette that displays in the eighth. Ghindin also excels in the miniatures, which crosses stylistic variety with great wisdom. The delicacy and ardor of the respective Poems op. 32 games of textures and rhythms of PoFme Fantastique the world of Scriabin is faithfully represented. This is, in short, a record whose selected works great also is suitable to enter the Scriabin piano. The recommendation is necessary.

American Record Guide
One of my greatest compliments to Ghindin is that there is a forward momentum in his rhythms that many other pianists lose in all of the complexities. Changes of mood from Joyeux to Tragique are all skillfully handled by Ghindin.

Alexander Ghindin has... powerful technique, wide dynamic range, and ardent temperament he brings to Russian repertoire, as this Scriabin recital amply bears out. The various Poèmes are massively textured, generously pedaled, and generally quite spacious... this is a masterful Scriabin disc, definitely worth checking out.

The piano music of Alexander Scriabin is usually divided into three stylistic periods, which are well-represented by the three piano sonatas and short pieces Alexander Ghindin presents on his 2011 Naxos release. Ghindin is a fine interpreter of Scriabin, and his readings bring out the passionate fires and the gloomy mists that swirl around these visionary pieces. Naxos' sound is clear and fully resonant...
