Notes & Reviews:

All three of the religious works presented on this CD belong to the absolute highlights of nineteenth / early twentieth century religious choral music. The works combine choral work traditions with the new contemporary musical means of the day and form a special-sounding synthesis. On this production "Knabenchor Hannover" once again demonstrates its stylistic variety in superior style. The boys' choir from Hanover performs choral music written by Liszt, Kodály and Widor as convincingly as it does the works of Schütz and Bach. "Knabenchor Hannover" thanks many of its outstanding qualities to the man who formed the choir, the unforgotten Heinz Hennig (1927-2002); Hennig also conducted the choir on this recording.
