Notes & Reviews:
No composer better expressed the grandeur and pomp of the High Baroque than Georg Friedrich Handel. A true cosmopolitan, Handel combined the studied counterpoint of his native Germany, with the lyricism of the Italians and the splendor of the French Royal Court to create a musical style that would dominate English music until the arrival of Haydn in 1792. The Premium Composers Series is more than just another "Best Of..." or "Greatest Hits" collection. Each two-disc set will feature critically acclaimed performances of complete works, performed by the greatest singers, musicians and ensembles in Europe.
