Recipient of the Luciana Berio Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, Keeril Makan has also received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Fromm Foundation and many other organizations. His music has been featured at the Other Minds Festival, the MATA Festival and the Gaudeamus Festival to mention just a few. He studied at Oberlin, the University of California-Berkeley and the Sibelius Academy. He teaches at MIT where he holds the Lister Brothers Career Development Chair.
