Notes & Reviews:

The chamber works on this CD demonstrate the wide-ranging and varied output from Julian Dawes, who has written scores for the Royal Court, Lyric Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, and Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle and Edward II, for which both are the recognized scores by the Brecht Estate in Berlin. The Sonata for violin and piano received its UK premiere at Wigmore Hall in 2006, and is played here by virtuoso violinist Matthew Trusler.
