Notes & Reviews:

This four-CD set is a collection of English classics, previously released on the Hallé label as single discs. On disc one, the orchestra plays some of the best British music, such as "Brigg Fair" and "English Rhapsody." Disc two brings together a stunning collection of works inspired by the English landscape, including the ever-popular "Tintagel." Disc three is a collection of lesser-known English works, such as Delius' "Idylle de Printemps," and disc four contains a collection of great English music featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams' "The Wasps," supported by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Estate and produced in association with BBC Radio 3.
