The Tallis Scholars have been performing the music of Josquin des Prez regularly in concert for nearly twenty-five years. Their 1986 recording of the Missa Pange lingua was the first recording of Early Music to win the Gramophone magazine Record of the Year Award and their 2009 recording of the Missa Malheur me bat was nominated for a Grammy award. This new release, featuring the Missa De beata virgine and Missa Ave maris stella, is the fifth disc in The Tallis Scholars' projected complete cycle of Josquin's Masses.
