Both performances and sound are excellent. Adriano's interpretations balance Brun's emotional and cerebral facets, thus making the music more approachable. His program notes are also highly informative. The Swiss musicologist Willi Schuh described Brun's music as "knotty and reserved at first hearing". True enough, but it's worth the effort.
