Ensemble Composers

Notes & Reviews:

Flemish ensemble Zefiro Torna was founded in 1996. Its allegorical name refers to the way in which the mythological god of the west wind, Zephyrus, manages to chase the bitter winter away year after year. Zefiro Torna consists of musicians who have won their spurs in ensembles such as the Huelgas Ensemble, Collegium Vocale, and Capilla Flamenca. Among many other awards, the group was awarded a Diapason d'Or for their 2007 release De Fragilitate. Includes a bonus CD celebrating the 15th anniversary of Zefiro Torna, featuring excerpts from previous releases.
