Notes & Reviews:

This is the re-issue of the 1979 recording Christmas with the Westminster Choir. It features some of the most-loved Christmas carols and songs performed by one of America's greatest choirs. Musical America's 2004 Conductor of the Year Joseph Flummerfelt and his musical artistry have been acclaimed in the world's finest concert halls for many years. He was hailed by Bernstein as "the world's greatest choral conductor." Maestro Flummerfelt is one of 3 artistic directors for the Spoleto Festival USA, and was for many years Maestro del coro for the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy. He is also the chorus master for the New York Philharmonic and music director of the New York Choral Artists, which he founded in 1979.

Notes & Reviews:

Christmas With the Westminister Choir features the Westminster Choir performing a variety of holiday favorites in a choral style. Featured performances include "O Come All Ye Faithful," "First Nowell," "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," and "Of the Father's Love Begotten," in addition to 23 others. Those who appreciate choral music should find this a pleasant addition to the holiday season. ~ Jason Birchmeier
