Conductor Ensembles ComposersNotes & Reviews:
Music in 14th century Europe was dominated by composers working in the Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France. Dufay of Cambrai went to Italy in the 1420's and became a member of the Papal choir before returning to Cambrai. Desprez of Flanders moved to Milan in 1460, and like Dufay, became a member of the Papal choir, before moving to Cambrai. Ockeghem of Dendermonde, traveled to Spain and throughout Flanders. This 4 disc set contains major works by these great composers plus other contemporaries. Bonus CD-ROM contains notes and texts.
