Recorded live with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Mario Venzago, Elgar: Cello Concerto is Gabetta's Gramophone Award winning album. In addition to the three Edward Elgar pieces (Sospiri, Salut d'amour and La capricieuse), the album also features Late Romantic cello repertoire from Antonín Dvorák (Waldesruh and Rondo) and Ottorino Respighi (Adagio con variazoni).

She has won a number of major prizes and plays a beautiful-sounding Guadagnini cello made in 1729. Recorded ambience of this disc is particularly fine, and the balance between orchestra and soloist is so effective. This is one of the most satisfying recordings of cello and orchestra I have heard in some time. The performance is a fine blend of lyricism, passion, and virtuosity that presents this great work at its best.
