A symphony, some operas and some symphonic poems are Richard Strauss' best-know works. As part of our Strauss Edition we present all the composer's works for orchestra with and without soloists. Performed by de Staatskapelle Dresden under Rudolf Kempe. With prominent soloists like Malcolm Frager (piano) and Ulf Hoelscher (violin).

This set provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the lesser known works by Strauss. The oboe concerto, the duet-concertino, for clarinet, bassoon and strings, Parergon zur Symphonia domestica, Op. 73, and Panathenšenzug: symphonic studies in the form of a passacaglia for piano (left hand) and orchestra, Schlagobers, Op. 70 (Waltz) etc.

More familiar pieces can also be found in this box, such as Ein Heldenleben, Also sprach Zarathustra, Till Eulenspiegel etc.
