Notes & Reviews:

The most famous music by the Czech composer Antonin Dvorak is the "New World" Symphony, written during his three-year stay in New York. The influence of African-American spirituals he had heard there, alongside nostalgia for his homeland, can clearly be discerned in the work.

Gramophone
The playing of the Berlin Philharmonic is marvelously eloquent throughout and a joy in itself.
