Notes & Reviews:

Adam Brakel pursues the dual career of concert artist and church musician, playing frequent organ recitals in the U.S. and abroad as well as directing the music program at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory as well as Duquesne University and Juilliard and the top prize winner of many competitions.

American Record Guide, November/December 2012
Reger's massive Opus 135b is heard to good effect on this instrument. Brakel makes both parts approachable for the listener - no easy job. All the weight and density of Reger's piece is displaced by the quiet, very melodic Cantilena from Five Miniatures for Organ by Andrew Fletcher (b.1950), a friend of the performer. His piece may well become a program or service favorite with its even, hushed atmosphere and subdued registration. A beautiful composition.
