Notes & Reviews:
The United States Navy Band's Sea Chanters Chorus recorded this album in order to pay tribute to the many journeys that have enriched the lives of its performers. The music on Journeys ranges from deeply moving to whimsical and has become associated with the ensemble during the geographic and emotional journeys they have taken. This album is truly a timeless expression of the more than 48 years that the Sea Chanters have been providing the world with wonderful music.
American Record Guide, September / October 2012
I must admit, though, that if I craved Americana or a sumptuous hymn sing, I would choose the Mormon Tabernacle Choir before I'd head for this smaller, less imposing choir of 20. And for full-bodied expressions of maritime patriotism, you could choose a program or two released by the US Naval Academy Glee Club under the baton of its long-time conductor, Dr John Barry Talley, now retired. They are delightful.
