Ah, Sweet DancerAlbum Reviews:
Billboard (p.48) - "[T]he title track charges forth with tribal energy, while 'Nomad' is built on thumping, thunderous drums."

Shape Shifter is Carlos Santana's debut for his Starfaith label. It is, with the exception of one track, an instrumental album. Santana wrote or co-wrote all but two selections on the 13-song set. He had been squirreling away instrumental tunes for years, anticipating the release of such an album. "Angelica Faith," co-written with Chester Thompson, suggests two fine earlier compositions, "Samba Pa Ti" and "Europa," and "Mr. Szabo" is an homage to the Hungarian guitarist who deeply influenced Santana's own style of playing -- "Black Magic Woman" was a meld of Peter Green's original tune and Szabo's "Gypsy Queen."
