Album Summary
Conductor Ensembles ComposerNotes & Reviews:
The first recording made by Jaap van Zweden with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, captured live at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center during a 2 week Beethoven Festival in November 2007, one year before Maestro van Zweden assumed the role as the Music Director. These recordings capture the energy and rapport that have come to define Van Zweden's tenure with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Fanfare Magazine, November/December 2012
Van Zweden and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra make a strongly positive impression with this, their first outing together on record; if, by some happenstance, you find yourself wanting or needing a new recording of these two Beethoven symphonies, they make an excellent choice.
American Record Guide, November/December 2012
The Dallas Symphony plays elegantly. The sound is natural in a way that adds to the sensation of blending. I suspect that there is a little more clarity in Meyerson Hall, but the recording is no problem.
