Fanfare
The MDG series on Schubert's quartets is unusually generous in several senses. The compilers ... have so far turned up a couple which I think have never before been recorded. The fragments aren't earthshaking, but it is useful to have them for reference. MDG's recording as usual is wholly up to the mark. This is a most satisfactory series to the extent of its first three CDs; it promises much future delight as well. Recommended.
