Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, November/December 2012
The most serious competition is from recordings using only solo voices and continuo, such as the one by Manfred Cordes (2004, CPO 999959) or the selections by Herreweghe or JunghSnel (Mar/Apr 1997). The use of solo voices allows much greater flexibility in tempo and dynamics. But I find Herreweghe's interpretation much more constrained than either Cordes or JunghSnel, and either one of those would be my recommendation for a smallscale approach. Rademann's recording is to be recommended for his sensitive choral sound.
