Notes & Reviews:

Mikhail Rudy is one of the major representatives of the Russian piano school in Europe. He has won several awards including The Liszt first prize in Budapest for his anthology of piano works by Franz Liszt, The Charles Cros Academy prize for his Scriabin cycle and Grand prix du disque for his recital of piano works by Karol Szymanowski.

American Record Guide, January/February 2013
The four Fairy Tales (Skazki), Op. 34 make a perfect opening to this recital. Based on Russian poetry and folklore, there are dozens of these works in Medtner's oeuvre. They seem to fire Tchaidze's imagination, and his performance is very engaging. Prokofieff's Sonata 4 is one of the less-known ones. It was written in 1917 and is quite full of despair, but manages a somewhat awkward jaunty Allegro con brio final movement. This is a winning combination of works, well recorded and performed.
