On the other hand, the main recording I have been listening to for 25 years (by Clive Lythgoe) is the only one that takes everything pretty slow and repeats passages. I'm used to that. Beyond that - and beyond all considerations of time - the two best recordings are by William Bolcom and Ralph Votapek (Nonesuch 79151 & Blue Griffin 139). They have the style.
