Notes & Reviews:

Gramophone
Markevitch's performances are excellent, with subtlety as well as pungency in The Golden Cockerel, dashing rhythmic precision in Russian and Ludmilla and a charmingly Weber-ish delicacy of romantic expression in May Night... The Borodin, too, has something of grandeur to add to the expected opulence - this anthology, in short, is rather more than the usual collection of "Russian showpieces".
