American Record Guide, March / April 2013
The Trio Sonata of Bortniansky - better known for his choral music - is distinguished by a guitar among the principals and sounds a lot like Boccherini. The Concerto-Symphony - in other recordings called Symphony Concertante - is invigorating and the harpsichord is miked right up front and personal - a delightful piece! This may well be the first time the Shebalin 1812 has surfaced on silver disc.
Recording information: 1974-2005.
