Notes & Reviews:

The Vienna Boys choir is the most famous and best known boys' choir in the world. In their 500 year history, they have worked with many prolific composers including Gluck, Mozart and Bruckner. On this double CD, they present a varied program with works from the Italian Renaissance, German Romantic, and English classical modern music eras.

American Record Guide, November/December 2013
They seem more human, more earthly, and more real. I like their full sound, their vibrato, their warmth. I find it somewhat appealing in this recording. The Bruckner pieces are lovely - and beautifully done. Naturally there are men (at least young men) in these pieces and in most of the renaissance ones. The composers - all from the 1500s - are Gallus, Victoria, Palestrina, Nascus, and De Kerle. I like this kind of polyphony done this way.
